Intra-uterine Insemination (IUI) is an office procedure timed to coincide with the woman's ovulation day. The sperm sample is washed in our lab and the healthiest sperms are placed in the woman's uterus with a soft straw so they can swim quickly toward the egg cell.

In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is done by giving the woman fertility medicine to help her eggs grow. Eggs are then removed by ultrasound and placed in our Embryo Lab. One healthy sperm is placed in each egg to help it become an embryo. Two embryos are placed in the uterus and extra embryos are frozen for future use.

Patients with less severe forms of infertility may qualify for Low Cost IVF based on age, blood hormone levels and ovarian reserve testing. We use less medication, fewer ultrasounds and blood tests and the cost is lower. The success rate is excellent at 60% by transferring just two embryos. In a few cases, enough extra embryos can be frozen for future use. After a consultation and a few tests, we can determine if you qualify.

Women with hormonal imbalances/Polycystic Ovaries often have irregular menstrual cycles, infrequent ovulation, weight problems, excessive body hair, diabetes, insulin resistance and high blood pressure.

This makes pregnancy difficult and treatment must be individualized. Medical problems must be treated before attempting pregnancy for the mother and baby's health. Testing in our laboratory helps us determine your hormonal status.

Mild cases of male infertility can be managed by IUI, but men with "zero" or extremely low sperm count and motility must be carefully tested to determine the cause and treatment.

Our Male Infertility Program combines examination and laboratory testing to arrive quickly at a diagnosis and treatment plan. ICSI, PESA and donor sperm are all treatment options available. We will review your semen analysis and help place you on the path to fatherhood.

Women are born with a finite number of eggs which must survive during her life to become a healthy baby. Each egg has a pre-destined life span an there is a continuous attrition during the woman's reproductive years. With advancing age, egg quality is affected by a physiologic decline and by environmental factors and health issues.

The Egg Quality or Ovarian Reserve can be determined by measuring a woman's reproductive hormones, estimating her resting follicle count and calculating the volume of the ovaries with ultrasound. At WCFC, all tests are easily done in one visit.

The most frequent cause of miscarriage is an abnormal embryo which can occur even in young healthy women. It is estimated that only 25% of embryos will result in a healthy baby. Chromosome abnormalities are often the cause of failed implantation or pregnancy loss during natural pregnancy.

Our specialized Genetic Screening Program (PGS) can test for abnormalities before an embryo is transferred to the uterus and can also confirm the gender of the embryo. Our Diagnostic Implantation System™ test can determine if the uterus is healthy enough to carry an embryo.

Unanticipated life events can threaten a woman's reproduction. Cancer at a young age, career demands, single marital status, family or medical history can all endanger a woman's fertility potential.

But now, you can take charge by preserving your healthy unfertilized eggs through our Landa Freezing Method™ which has resulted in the births of 60 healthy babies and counting from frozen eggs, one of the world's largest series from a single Fertility Center. Women less than 38 years have the best outcome and simple Ovarian Reserve testing can determine if you are a good candidate.

World's First Frozen Egg Baby Reunion: A New Generation of Motherhood

First Ever Reunion of Babies Born from Frozen Eggs

Hosted by Orange County Egg Freezing & Fertility Specialist David Diaz, MD, Named Top Doctor by US News & World Report

David Diaz, MD, Medical Director of Frozen Egg Bank Inc. and West Coast Fertility Centers, chosen as one of America's Top Reproductive Endocrinologist developed a specialized technique that minimized ice crystal formation during the egg freezing process and improved the survival rate to 91% after thawing. This led to unparalleled egg freezing success rates and the first ever reunion for children born from frozen eggs held on October 15, 2011 in Orange County, California.

Nearly 70 families and their healthy frozen egg babies came together at this egg freezing reunion to celebrate life (View Video) and the promise of hope for this egg freezing reproductive technology. Since the first report of a successful birth from egg freezing in 1986, major improvements in freeze/thaw protocols, laboratory techniques and ICSI have resulted in the birth of over 1,000 healthy babies born worldwide from frozen eggs and about 400 in the US. Most of the live births have occurred in just the past 6 years. Read More...

The oldest child in this special group of youngsters at the reunion had just celebrated her 6th birthday. Cadyn is the first frozen egg baby born in California and she is a bright and thriving little red head who seemed to enjoy her role as the "big sister" to the younger children.

It is a known fact that eggs gradually decline in their quality after age 35 with a more rapid attrition in the late 30's, meaning the highest success rate can be achieved when eggs are frozen from women younger than 38 years. Using an IRB approved technique developed at Frozen Egg Bank (FEB), youthful, robust human eggs were frozen with nutrient solutions used to maintain them indefinitely until needed to establish pregnancy. These improvements have led to high pregnancy rates of 54% over the past 6 years, nearly equivalent to the rate achieved when using non-frozen eggs.

“This baby reunion was so unique because it celebrated the pioneering families and their babies conceived from thawed frozen eggs. A heartfelt thank you to all the attendees who helped to make this a very memorable reunion for all of us.”

David Diaz, MD, FACOG has always been on the scientific forefront of finding real solutions for real human needs because he understands that unanticipated life events can threaten a woman’s reproduction. Cancer at a young age, career demands, single marital status, or a depleted ovarian function can all endanger a woman’s fertility potential. Because of West Coast Fertility Centers’ reputation for scientific research and fertility solutions, they are referred some of the most difficult cases by the medical and infertility community.

For these reasons, Dr. Diaz was nominated by his peers and selected as one of America's Top Doctors® by U.S. News and World Report in collaboration with Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. Top Doctors are identified by specialties for superior care and expertise by other doctors who are then screened by a physician-led research team.

In association with West Coast Fertility Centers, Frozen Egg Bank, Inc. has helped many women of advanced maternal age (>40 years) achieve pregnancy by using the frozen eggs from young volunteer donors. With over 3,700 babies born since the inception of West Coast Fertility Centers in 1988, Dr. David Diaz and his team are focused on finding the precise infertility diagnosis and providing fertility treatments to include IVF, IUI, ICSI, blastocyst transfer, assisted hatching, PGD, gender selection, surrogacy, egg donation and egg freezing.

  • After undergoing IVF, some patients prefer to freeze surplus eggs instead of embryos for ethical reasons.

  • The physical properties that make an egg fertile during youth can now be preserved by freezing her eggs until she is ready to start a family on her terms

  • First Frozen Egg Baby, Cadyn, turned 6 years old on Oct 6th. Seen here playing and decorating Halloween pumpkins with other frozen egg babies.

  • Frozen Egg Twins with parents and Dr. Diaz

  • Brie (left) was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma at age 23 & froze her eggs before starting chemotherapy. There is "life after cancer" and it's comforting to know that Brie's ability to one day have children won't be compromised.
